This is a beautiful quilt and you honor your father and his service to his country. I would, being a direct person, ask if the quilt is something they like or would they prefer something different. It was made with love and that is what should be important to you (smile). Great job. Thank you for sharing.

I think you did a wonderful job. I'm impressed that it's your first quilt. Some people just don't show much emotion. Don't let it get to you - just finish that quilt for your daughter and show us!

Wonderful quilt and precious gift. You did it because you loved him and sometimes the thanks is only in the giving. As someone else said, they have probably shown to everyone or told everyone about it. It isn't you...take a deep breath and let it go!

Great job. Beautiful quilt. Some men are just not good with emotions. Know he loves it; but just can't bring himself to tell you directly.

Don't let it bother you. Many people - parents included - don't appreciate all that is involved in making a quilt and they don't understand why it's important to us. When we give a quilt as a gift, it's terrific when someone is generous in their praise and thanks, but we can't expect that reaction every time. It's probably not that they don't like the gift - they just don't understand why it's any different from the one they saw in a catalog last week.

You did a wonderful job for a first quilt. Take pride in your work and know you did a good job and you did it with love for your father. Then let it go - and don't be surprised if some day down the road, you hear from your mom or someone else just how touched your dad is to have the quilt you made with your very own hands.
