    My First Quilt

My daughter wanted a quilt for her new home and she was decorating with fleur-de-lis. Well this is what I came up with. Hope you like it. I have 2 more to make and I want to make them a little different. If you have any ideas I would appreciate the help. I plan on using the same material just want to change the blocks up.

What a beautiful quilt. Your work is so good and for a first quilt you did such good work. I know your DD will love it.

Wow - does that look like satin? And then you embroidered in the squares? For your first quilt you tackled something very difficult and did a great job.
A fabric stash is always missing that one fabric needed to finish the quilt on which you're working.

Beautiful. Is that satin? What an achievement for anyone - but especially for a first quilt.

Beautiful! Great job. Would never guess this is your first quilt. The sheen of the white fabric is very pretty.

It must be satin....look at that shine! Very pretty. My only suggestion would be to use cotton: much easier to work with and much less raveling edges. However, you seem to be able to handle that shiny, slippery fabric just fine!

It's very pretty, and I suspect you will come up with alittle different designs that will be very pretty too. You did great.

Yes this is a satin with polyester in it. My cousin told me to buy that kind of satin. It was a bear for sure almost gave up on this . However with a rotary cutter my cousin said get the pinking shear cutter blade and that really helped with NO FREY ! It took me 3 months to finish it . Thank you all for the very nice compliments and will probably use cotton on the next one.

I really like what you have done. It is very classic looking and I'm sure you daughter will LOVE it! The white looks as if it is glistening - is it cotton or something else?
