Default My first quilt

I started my quilting after Thanksgiving and after I finished the binding, realized I still need to quilt one corner, so this is almost finished. I machine pieced and hand quilted the blocks with an 18 inch quilting hoop (which I had too taunt!) and machine quilted the border.
I have learned a lot from reading your posts, so on my next quilt, I will square the blocks, cut the borders correctly if I decide to miter them (I had to add small rectangles where I shorted the corners!) and press more carefully. I had intended to use this as a table top, but will use it as a lap quilt. it measures 50 x 45.
I am a perfectionist, and my quilt is not perfect, and I still love it. However, I am a little gun shy about starting my next quilt. Finding time is also a challenge!

You did a great job! Don't forget to put your label somewhere. I still have my first quilt, small wall hanging. Cut the pieces out with scissors

I really like your fabric choices. I like plaids and flowers together. Wonderful job for your first quilt. I can't believe you hand quilted it too. Great job.

That is very pretty. The colors and pattern are great. Congratulations on finishing your first. Every single one I have finished has taught me something new.
