Here is my first wall hanging and what inspired me to make it. I got an old franklin treadle sewing machine from my grandma and after spending a few hours cleaning and polishing it i noticed more of the very interesting decal work that this machine has on it and after thinking long enough about it i knew what i wanted to do. So i took pics of the decal on it that i liked and blew them up to make a pattern that was 4' tall of the design that i liked and i thought would look nice hanging around. The decal is located just above the thread tensionser on this machine as you will see in the pics. The top is made up of 4" black squares and the applique is two shades of gold satin with green to fill in behind it just as the decal appears. well thats about it hope you enjoy. Chris

That really turned out well. Good job. I like the way you adapted the decal to the wall hanging. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I've always heard, inspirations for quilts can be found everywhere....sometimes I guess it is right under your nose. Beautiful piece and love the machine too.
