The blocks are 4.5". I wanted to make it easy on me and decided to off-set the blocks, so I didn't have to watch out for matching the seams. Guess I took the lazy way out. :mrgreen:
I just did one 40x48" with 8" blocks as a super quickie on short notice to send to my son who is spending the summer in Africa with family. It was CLEVER of you to offset the blocks. I'll do that when I make one for my younger son. "Different but equal" -the mantra of moms, right? Your quilt is really great.
