Throughout the years I saved my husband's shirts that 'shrunk' knowing that someday when we were old and gray I'd make him a quilt.

Sadly Larry died less than two years ago. We were married for 23 years.

So I embarked on making my first quilt ever. It was made with blood, sweat and tears and although not perfect "Larry' is with me when I sleep at night.

In case you're wondering, that's Leopold on the bed. An angel dropped him off at our doorstep about three months before Larry died. He has helped me though so much sadness and has given me back happiness as well.

Hope you all like.

Pauline

I absolutely LOVE it.

First, its blue..
Second, its a recycle of Larry's shirts
Third, it has such movement for its simple construction, reminded me that plaids can do that
Last, that it has been such therapy for you ( I guess that really should have been first)

What a wonderful story - and a beautiful quilt to comfort you and Leopold - this is what quilting is all about...
