I would like to share with you the doll quilt I made for my August Doll Quilt Swap partner, Jean D. I found out that she likes red, so I wanted to make her something using red, but not in the "usual" way. I found the red print and then pulled the other colors from it. At first I wasn't too sure of the colors, but as the quilt went together they melded better and better. I think the ruffle edging was the perfect finishing touch. Now, I love this quilt! My husband does too. He asked if we could keep it! LOL

What a beautiful piece! I love what you did with the back too. Those colors turned out perfectly.

That is a beautiful quilt! The ruffled border adds that extra touch of softness that makes me want to cuddle with it right away. Thank you for sharing.

Well, it was for a swap so I guess the moral of the story is don't make pretty quilts that you committed to giving away? Nah - just can't do that. What fun would that be? lol I love the idea that my beautiful little quilt is being used by someone across the U.S. from me.

It is a decorative stitch I did using my 1956 Singer 403.

Love your quilt but I would add some quilting if it were mine, because in time those open areas may get droopy. Only a suggestion, it is your quilt.

This is a 22" x 22" (including the ruffle) doll quilt.

Sorry, didn't realize the size. Didn't mean to butt into your business. I wouldn't add any more either at that size.

Not to worry you didn't butt in. You did help me realize that posting the size might have been good information to have. Not everyone is familiar with the sizes of doll quilts. So thanks!

Me too! Unfortunately I bought only enough fabric for the doll quilt. Happens everytime I make one that I really, really like. :)
