This is my most recent bargain at my local Goodwill. There was nine yards of the cheater fabric, over 10 yards left on the bolt of the dark green stripe, some batting, and several other pieces to boot! I also found muslin and all cotton sheets to use for backing. All of this a a few canning jars for about $40.

I Love Shopping at Goodwill!

All of this plus 4 or 5 all cotton sheets

I was at the Goodwill in Portsmouth yesterday. I took a friend with me, she always makes a dash for the line with the fabric, sheets, etc. I guess you beat her to the goodies! ha ha. I laugh at her everytime we go to one she races ahead of me. She uses sheets for the backing of her quilts. Do you?

The ones I bought I got intending to do just that. I haven't done it before though. I assume I need to take out the hems and iron well before I give it a try. Any suggestions on the best method?
