First....thank you for sharing your journey with this quilt. You have made so many beautiful blocks. Even though it pains me to say this, I think I would remake Block 30 and use this one to make a pillow for someone to love. Or, maybe try straightening out the block first. But maybe an experienced long armer will chime in and suggest another way to smooth out the background. But, then I think.....what if the next one comes out the same? Tough decision.

I don't think I'd re-do block #30. I think it will work out with the quilting. That one really tested my abilities as well.

Don't you just love those strawberries? They are so much fun. Both of your blocks are wonderful. You're going to be done in no time.

I broke my arm 2 weeks ago so I'm kinda at a stand still right now. I was able to applique a bit this morning so as the pain lessens maybe I can do more. I think you will catch up to me and my project. Good for you.

I have been negligent in thanking everyone for their encouragement and support on this project, but I sincerely do appreciate all the kindness you all have shown and will try to be more mindful of it. So many have replied with helpful hints and suggestions, but I have to give special thanks to Nana-up-North, who is on this same journey, for always being there to answer questions and give me that little boost whenever I think this project is way out of my league. Thank you N-u-N, I'm so sorry to hear you about your broken arm. I hope it heals quickly and with 100% success and you can meet your hoped for schedule of completing your LBB by October.

This co-v 'stay at home' order has been a great motivator for working on this quilt and without it I would probably only be on block #2 by now, lol. However I would be happy to push this project into 2021 or 22 if this awful virus could be put behind us. My 91 year old Mother is in an assisted living facility that has been on lockdown since late March, and I would gladly put my LBB on hold for a chance to visit her again.

Again thank you to everyone.

Thanks for the kind words, SewingSenior. This quilt is such a challenge and I love having others share this journey. I probably won't make my goal of October but that's fine. The wait will be worth it. One day at a time at this point.

Default My LBB Block 33

After visiting a few local fabric stores and surfing the internet in search of a rose floral fabric for block 33, I finally came up with 2 possibilities. And opted for the one used in block 33. When it was about 3/4 complete my sweet neighbor, who is also a master quilter, came by with another fabric she had found while on a weekend trip that has bright red roses. I already had the pink roses appliqued and stuffed so I will keep this block and use the red ones for the next block.

While searching for roses I filled up my time by finishing all of the HST and the last 2 side triangles. I still have 1 corner triangle and the last 7 blocks to go. I do believe I can see a tiny speck of light at the end of the tunnel, sure hope it's not a freight train.
