What a lovely quilt - I bet the whole time you were working on it your mom was looking down to see what you were doing with it and encouraging you the whole way. You should sew a sleeve on the back and hang in in a prominent place in your home....so you can enjoy it each time you lay eyes on it. Lovely!

I'm glad you decided to finish this rather than waiting until you felt confident of doing a professional job -- or your descendents would have found it in YOUR dresser drawer -- unfinished still. Now someone will find a treasure from your own hands.
