Thanks for posting the whole picture. I made a Christmas tree skirt for my daughter from neckties and it was terrific looking. Have loads of ties and will probably try something like this as I wanted to make a crazy quilt with the different embroidery stitches but this would kill two quilting birds with one stone.

Absolutely beautiful! The office where I work went from business attire to casual so the men didn't have to wear ties anymore. I put up a sign in the cafeteria for tie donations and I ended up with almost 200 mens silk ties. I've been looking for a pattern to use them with. This is one of the top ideas now!

Love the quilt! My dear father-in-law was a retired pastor and had many ties. I have most of them...Now, I know I will have to make a tie-quilt. Thanks for sharing.

This is so beautiful....you are blessed to have something made by your Mom.
I have many many beautiful silk ties.......I go by Goodwill every couple of weeks and buy a few to add to my growing collection. I am seriously considering making a quilt like your Mom's.......it's really outstanding!

Do you have pics of the tree skirt? I have tons of neckties( been collecting for a long time) and was thinking of making a tree skirt...

    Great quilt.
I asked my pastor not long ago if he would keep his old ties for me instead of getting rid of them and he said, "I never get rid of my ties. I must have aroune 200 and some are 30 years old or more. I keep everyone. Wouldn't think of getting rid of them." Can you immagine some of the designs he must have? Wish I could get my hands on them and make a beautiful quilt like this one.
    Very nice.

That's gorgeous. The shape of the neckties makes such a cool pattern. I also like the pug in the corner

what a treasure, I love the idea of the necktie quilt. I lost my father in August and I would love to have a quilt with his ties.

Thanks so much for sharing the Necktie quilt. My aunt gave me my grandpas and her husband, my uncles ties to make a quilt but I wasn't sure how to. Your quilts are great!
