And it is all this board's doing!

It started with a Card Trick block, using the simplified method describe on this posting, http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-137717-1.htm, using 5" charm packs. So this is my current favorite project using a charm pack! http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-114939-1.htm. I liked my background, so I turned the blocks on point to get a little more in each square. I have enough pictures to put together a tutorial on how I did that if anyone is interested.

As a result of the Card Trick block, I had a lot of 2.5"squares leftover, so I created kite tails that framed the blocks nicely. I debated sashing options, but once I had the components on my design felt curtain, I decided no sashing was needed. Also at this point the top was the perfect size for a twin bed.

I decided it needed a little ping as well as some yardage to hang over the bed sides, so I added a red border, and liked the effect. The white and black added to the zip, but was a little plain. So I played with the card shapes. Found one I liked, that I could use yo-yos with, so I made 48 of them, deliberately so I could have fun with the name of the quilt. Played some more and stuffed the card shapes for a faux trapunto look.

Then I decided this quilt was a perfect opportunity to learn some FMQ techniques. So every "card" has a different look, and I swiped ideas from Charisma, Patsy Thompson http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-138808-1.htm and Leah Day, http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.c...d-design.html.

Still not finished! Saw a great link to a Two Color binding, http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-68536-1.htm, so on that went!

So this quick little quilt, started to play with a couple of charm packs has taken me over 3 months to finish. The piecing and quilting are not perfect, but I absolutely love this quilt. It came out different that I thought it would, and it has been a lot of fun to play with.

And it is all this board's fault! Enjoy!
