I read that the Amish do this on purpose because God is the only perfect one. Anybody else hear this?

Great first quilt :thumbup: . Finish it as it is then you can look back on it in years to come and see how much you've improved. It's not that noticeable anyway. Well done, be proud. :D

Nothing is perfect and if you are looking for P E R F E C T you will kill yourself trying to acheive it. We are all trying for perfection, and that is not the same thing as PERFECT. I say let it go, put on the third border and stand back and admire your first quilt. Your son is not going to be looking for imperfections, he is going to be loving the quilt his mom made for him. Isn't that what is most important? The quilt is wonderful and the colors are great...you have done a beautiful job on the quilt.

Perhaps it was the folding that caused your problems. Are you squaring up each square as you complete it? Are you pressing each square before you square it up? These are steps that help me so much.

Yes, in fact I love reading quilt history and it was not only the Amish who did that.

Thanks for the advice, this board has really helped keep me grounded. LOL I think I tend to zone in on something trying to be the perfectionist and forget the whole reason for making it in the first place! I need to hurry up and finish so he has something warm to sleep with! Thanks again for giving me the push I needed to keep going forward!

Years from now your son won't remember a mistake, only that you made a quilt for him. Don't agonize over it, that only takes the fun out, just finish it and let him play with it, sleep under it, roll up in it, and love it.
