I call this Missouri log cabin in honor of my mother in law. We are celebrating her life in August at a family reunion. This square and 11 more just like it will be tied together with ribbons, with pictures of each family in a different block. Then, after the reunion, each family will take a block home and can put in a picture of the whole group. I am thinking about binding the left side and top with the dark blue and the right and bottom with the dark green. Does that sound alright, or should it all be one color, and if one, which one? It is 14 x 12.

I think that sounds good. you want the Photo to stand out on the block I get that. You could also go with a black or brown and give it a picture frame feel if you want an option.

I think your idea is great. What a wonderful quilt that is going to be.

I hadn't even thought of brown or black. The brown would keep with the feeling of nature and the sky.

I too go with the brown or black to make it look like a frame.

I like a dark brown, too... I think it would help your photos be more prominent in the square.
What a great idea!!! Your family are going to love receiving these :D:D:D

I am going to get the brown on Monday, and hopefully have the blocks done early next week. Thanks for the suggestions and support. :D
