quiltingbea, I would have done that if I had of had enough long strips to do it.

however because I am trying to use mainly scraps and want it to be truly random the strips would not work.

one day I do want to make a jelly roll quilt, then I would do that with the strips. for now though, taking the long way. At least I am not hand sewing it hehe

actually cutting is going pretty good, just finished up another 50, so have 200 strips now.
am having to dip into some of my fat quarters, and half yard stuff, so those end up making strips pretty quickly, AND I figured out to fold over the fabric, to cut twice as fast...

Thank you all for commenting, and a big thank you to everyone who posts tips on these forums, I have learned a lot.

went out with mother in law today, went to the thrift store, found some fabric, approx 1 yard each (irregular cuts but works for me) for 1.00 each.

also found some shirts 100% cotton, nice fabric, nice design, for 1.00 each, and a little set of drawers for storing some stuff, couple dollars for that. MIL said it would be handy for notions and whatnot, I agree. Now to figure out where to put it hehe

so anywho... I have 414 strips cut at the time of this post, with a few more tops to rip apart and cut up... then the sewing will begin.

tjamls chairjogger, I saw it on someone's signature and thought what a nice way to keep track of it, see it at a glance.

hoping to have it completed cutting today, need to go out and run a few errands, (which includes the postoffice for anyone waiting for a package from me, I am so sorry I have been delayed) then can get back to cutting.
