Lowes, etc. sells clear plastic tubing by the foot. I think I bought 1/2" or maybe 5/8" tubing. I then sub cut it into smaller pieces that will fit my bobbin (approx. 3/8") and then cut the pieces so I can put them around the bobbin.

It's kind of like those bobbin buddies, only a lot cheaper and see-through.
