Look what I did today!

It went together amazingly easy-all hail video tutorials on the net. Putting the strips together still required a fair amount of stitch-picking to get it right, but look-even the corners lined up correctly! (Can you tell I'm thrilled? :D ) Now I just need to find some batting, figure out what I'm going to back it with, and learn how to bind it.

This will be for the top of my treadle, so I can put other things on it without dinging up the oak. My goal, now that I understand what I'm doing, is to eventually make a quilt for our bed.

Wow, nicely done! :D With all those curves, you'll be learning another new technique soon - how to make bias binding! :-D :-D :-D
But seeing how well you did this pattern, bias binding will be no problem at all. Well done!! :D :D :D (And as a Steeler's fan, I have to say I love your color choices! :D )

Nicely done ... Another name for this is Apple Core!

I did a table runner in a course. It's a nice pattern and can be fun done scrappy too! and I learned a lot about patience in doing all the curves. Actually was quite enjoyable and relaxing!!
Though, I don't think I would want to do a whole quilt in it.

The binding is just the same as you would do for a regular quilt. Be sure to use binding on the bias. I made mine pretty narrow, and had no problems as the bias lets you have the give and take you need for the curves!

Don't stop now, add more to it. You're doing a fantastic job on those curved edges.
