Thanks all. It is bright and cheerful and makes me smile.

The scallop border is in the design of the border fabric, not cut or pieced.

Gorgeous! Question: When you do cross-hatching in the center with the applique, how do you skip over the applique pieces? Do you do a couple of teeny stitches then raise the needle and move the needle to the other side of the applique piece? I ask because I recently did some quilting with applique pieces on the quilt, and kept forgetting to skip the applique piece and had to go back and frog it. Thanks!

I haven't don't cross hatching with applique yet but I've watched videos and the outline stitch around the applique is done first. When doing the cross hatching and you come to an applique piece, you follow the same outline stitch to then next cross hatch line.

I'll try and find the videos I watched and post a link.

Thanks for your help - I'd never thought about doing it the way you just described.

I found the video where I saw that but it's a Sharon Schamber video and have to join the network to see it.

I did confirm that it was what I thought... outline the applique first and then cross hatch, traveling over the outline to the next cross hatch line.
