Thank you Bill! I am happy to again be caught up. Summer is a busy time, but the weather here has been so hot, so indoor activities have won out! :)

I have a question - I am going to do the July row and was wondering - did the other Canadians in this group do the stars or did you adapt a bit of a Canadian look..just wondering if perahps I would change the row again - or just go with the Americana stars....
I love the look of the row!!!!

Gerbie, I live in SW Houston, the Sugar Land/Richmond area. I will be teaching first grade at Fort Bend Baptist Academy. this will be year 20 for me. I plan to retire when my husband does. We thought it would be this year or next but our retirement fund has not grown as fast as we had hoped. We are just glad it is still there at all, if you know what I mean....

Well, I finally did my July row - but I changed it - I decided to try to find a Maple leaf....the block thta I found was a bit bigger than the ones that were planned for July....instead of 5 1/2" unfinished, my Maple Leafs are 6 1/4" - so it's not too bad......
Because they were a bit bigger...and because I wanted an even number so that the stems pointed towards each other, I decided to only do 4....I could have done 5...but I broke it up by adding sashing in between....
Anyways, here is what I have so far.....I hope it looks ok....
Looking forward now to August......
Bill

Hi Sharon,
Thanks...I feel so good now that I have caught up - then after it was done I was afraid that perhaps the leafs were a bit too large..but they are only about 3/4" larger than the stars...but I decided to leave as is..I think that it will all work :-)...Aterall, it is a sample :-)
This is a fun project and I can't wait to get the top all done so that I can add borders or whatever and get it quilted and finished...
By the way, I have been keeping a couple of the number of pieces in this...so far I am at 711......and there's a lot more to go.. :-)
Bill

Oh my Bill! You are speaking of all the little pieces that we have put together!?? Goodness! I am thinking of the borders and binding and then the quilting. I hope to have it quilted by a quilter, there are a few in the area and charge from 1 1/2 to 2 cents a square inch! Not sure how much that adds up to, but this will be my first kept project, so I am thinking it would be nice to have it done up! :)
