My thoughts are:
1. The name is perfect
2. Don't worry about the seams showing through. Interfacing will only add to the heaviness of the quilt. If the seams show, it will be OK
3. You might want to think about a very light quilting, or even tying the quilt.
4. Write the lable from what is in your heart for this girl. That's what counts.
Blessings to you for doing this important thing for this girl. You have made a huge difference in her life, and you may have made a difference in this world that you can't see quite yet.

duh ..... just dawned upon me ... I suggested you layer the flower block onto a piece of cotton. You really should layer it onto a piece of flannel or you are not going to have any "batting" in that section.

Re the PPs comment .... I thought you were still quilting this in some form? Otherwise, it'll be a nightmare for your Mary!

Pretty and so good of you to make this for Mary, she sounds like a remarkable Young Lady.

Ditto MTS. I think her idea for the variegated thread and the quilting is a good one.

Could you maybe just fill with a piece of thin white flannel using it as you would batting?
Do you think doing that would make it too warm to use?
If you could do that, it might make your quilting stand out better too.

Oh it is pretty. They are called summer quilts without the batting at least in some areas.
