Funny... I thought you were referring to the color. Duh. The ships are awesome. I may decide to do a Navy quilt soon. My cousin is serving on a ship.

Do I leave it as one piece. He is current in a warm state, but have orders to a cold state up North; any ideas. It will definitely be a future project, still have two quilts I need to get finished before the end of next month.

That is great fabric. When I was at retreat I took a picture of a ladies quilt block that I thought was so neat for a great print. I don't know the name of the pattern but you might be able to figure out the block or a similar one.

Hmmmmmm. From the fabric on the left, you could make rectangles that highlight the important motifs (perhaps a bit of fussy cutting?) and then "frame" them using the fabric on the right. For added interest, you might add additional borders of red, white, and blue. (Think: matting around a framed piece of art.)

Another way to go is to make a "6 Hour Quilt," pattern by Kaye Wood. Since all strips are cut 6" wide, the pattern on the fabric isn't terribly obscured. You could use both your fabrics and supplement them as needed to achieve your desired finished size.

The one on the left I would definitely do as a panel, border it with one of the colors in the panel that would coordinate, and outline quilt the figures. It would make a great bunk-size quilt. The other one could be used for backing on a quilt. They are both great fabric.
