I too am partial to the Navy quilt. My Dad was career Navy--submarines--and my husband was a career line officer. I know what it means to familys who have spouses fighting for our freedom. Hats off to the men who serve and the families who support them on the home front.

Above the God Bless America panel, I would like to put a picture of US Naval Station Great Lakes training building where he did his boot camp and now an instructor there. The red, white and blue navy fabric will be the backing. Would like your opinions please.
This is one remarkable quilt, you've put a lot of thought behind it, even my military hubby is impressed with it. Your son will be most proud not only of his quilt but the woman behind it. Great work!

BTW....your gd's quilt is wonderful, know she's going to love and cherish it.

Are there any members in the Norfolk Virginia area near the Naval Station that could possible take a picture for me of the Welcome or entrance sign? I lost all my pictures in Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Would like to include the picture in my sons' quilt. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Default Update of Nay Quilt

Here is an update on how far I have gotten on the Navy quilt for my son. Opinions welcome. I am going to trim them in blue just as the Norfolk VA sign and then sash with the Navy backgroun fabric. Please be truthful, I want this to me a momenta of how he is appreciate for his service to our country. Everything is just pinned, for easy rearranging. There are a lot of pictures.

Your son's quilt is Wonderful!! My son was also on the USS Ronald Reagan in 2010 with VFA 147 Argonauts. I wish I was as talented as you are I would do one of these quilts for my son as he has been in the Navy for 18 years.
Your granddaughter's quilt is precious.

Thank Your Son for his Service and Bless you and your family!!

Thank for the nice comments. It is all about being creative and just going for it. I got some help from Charisma on how to sash the blocks. I was going to do them in all blue at first.

Here is an update of what I have done so far.
