Default Need help on how to quilt this

I still need to add the border to the sides I think I will put a brown border on , but I don't know how to quilt this. I don't think I want too much quilting. I can fmq some, but not real good at designs. This is an order so I need to make the quilting look good.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Since I don't fmq I use fancy stitches that are built-in my machine. I used the same cat fabric and I just stitched diagonally with fishbones and cats . I also use just a scalloped stich which I elongate and stitch on the diagonal. Not terribly creative but gets the job done.

I think I would outline stitch the kitties and do a small stipple in the background to make them pop out. I would then straight stitch in echoes on the frames.

This was exactly what I was thinking. The advantage if you're not an accomplished free motion quilter is that you have the line of the picture to follow, then stipple the blank areas.

I really like your setting - the split mitered block borders and using HST blocks for the sashing cornerstones.
It creates a great visual effect.
Nicely done!

Very cute. I only do a large stipple on my quilts. I love doing it and love the look. I'm not very creative.
