I won't to put this quilt in our little fair this year. and need some serious comments on the quilt and something to put in the 4 white blocks in the middle and the half white squares around the edges. I would like to name it lost in the black forest. do you think that is too much? i have black/white/grey/silver thread that should be pretty on that white. ty

Now that's a unique quilt. I love the idea of the silver thread. Very Chic!

I really love the name you're planning to use! It is very beautiful! Since I've never entered anything in a fair, I have no idea of what needs to be done. Good luck when you do enter it!

I don't know if this helps you choose a quilting pattern, but the title makes me think of 'Little Red Riding Hood' or 'Hansel and Gretel' --- blackbirds come to mind, also. hhhmmmm ..... maybe quilt small footprints (or animal paw prints or a trail of leaves....) wandering from tree to tree. Maybe these suggestions will help generate other ideas. Good luck!

I think that black quilting on the white background will be very unforgiving. It's only going to look good if you are a very good quilter. The silver idea sounds chic as well as much friendlier to work with. I would just stitch in the ditch on the trees.

Do you embroider? You could embroider something in the opposing squares? I would definitely quilt using white thread or silver if you have the skill?

If it's a quilting design suggestion you're looking forward to - maybe something scroll... There are so many sharp lines in the pattern - some curves would be nice in the quilting.

    I agree wholeheartedly with this.

There is a pine tree quilt in the book Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!! that is set very much like yours. They have a lovely scroll-work design quilted in the solid squares. For more inspiration try looking at these designs from the Stencil Company
