This is a leftover painted square from a quilt our painting chapter raffled off a couple of years ago. I have been asked to make a tablerunner from the square. The square is 11 x 11. I have looked at a few quilt block patterns, but just not sure. Anyone have any ideas? This is my first try at posting a picture, so I hope it works.

Cute snowman! Maybe do a table topper (octagon or square)?
Set block on point, add a couple of borders......

Well I think it would be darling done in the red, white and blue fabrics. I love working with primaries. They are so vibrant and happy.
Some log cabin blocks would be cute with it and give it a outdoorsy theme personality just place the snowman in the center and use logs made into six inch squares unfinished. This will bring it down to the eleven inch size as finished blocks. Set two by two the length until you have your length you want the runner to be. Or paint two tree blocks to make it a trio of blocks?

The other option would be to carefully cut the block on point and make the braid table runner from it. Same colors just a different look.

I think I have decided to add a red border to the square to make it 12" square and then on either side put a Christmas Star block using, solid red, white and a blue snowflake pattern. I will post a picture.

I have added pictures of the runner. I can't decide which fabric to use for the border. One is green/red/white and the other is red/white with a green stripe. Hope the colors come through in the pictures. Which one?
