I am thinking of a landscape windows. Where the focus fabric is cut into squares, and each frame around it resembles looking through a window. This is an example of what I'm dreaming: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-36539-1.htm

Everyone must be getting tired of me posting this link but this is my favorite choice when I don't want to cut a fabric into small pieces.

One of my favorites is sawtooth star with the focus fabric as the center of the star. Like this one I found on the wewb:

My first quilt had fabric in it that I wanted to highlight and not cut up and so I got a pattern from my LQS (called Center Court) that allowed me to do just that and yet make the quilt interesting at the same time.

Thought you might like to look at this as a possibility. Whatever you decide just know that your fabric is great and will make a wonderful looking quilt!

I think I would just use it for backing--that way, you wouldn't have to cut it up! And for the front of the quilt, I just might paper piece airplanes in the colors in the fabric. I actually have some fabric that is kind of similar, with old time airplanes--and that is what I plan to do with it! :D

I like your idea, sewcrafty.

Do you have enough to fussy cut the individual planes? Then alternate with a simple 9 patch. We'er all students here at one time or another.
