Thanks everybody for your help. I should have stated that I have made a king sized floral log cabin so I would like to go another direction.

You could make a heap of HST using a black or a dark green and play around with all the shapes....or foundation piece a strippy - Ditter did a beauty and I am sure there are others if you go through search.

Have you thought of the floral lattice quilt. Cut 6.5 in squares. All kinds of them. Cut in half diagonally. Cut contrasting 1 1/2 in strips for lattice. Center and sew strip to one triangle then eyeball center and sew other side. Press And square up to 6.5. Be careful only of directional florals so they don't look upside down. Put them together so the strips form a diamond like a garden lattice. It is very pretty done with white , brown or dark green lattice strips but when I learned to do it we did it only with contrasting floral strips of all kinds and it looks great that way too. I have some pics but have not done so well uploading th here from my iPhone. Pm me if you want to see pics and will post some from my laptop when I am on next. Have fun.

My suggestion is a Disappearing 9 Patch to showcase the florals (in the four corners of the 9 patch so they don't get cut up) and with tone on tone elswhere to tie them all together.
