I am only one person here quilting, Some have so graciously sent materials and some baby quilts, along with runners, your wall hanging will blend in so beautifully. For those who sent material, I may not be able to post a made quilt this round, but there will be other auctions and sales throught the year and I will be kept busy using all that was given from their hearts. WE really are blessed.

Bless you my friend!! All of us appreciate what you're doing for your daughter's foundation -- a great cause, btw!! Well, Cheryl, you know me, I just couldn't rest until I put the finishing touches on this little mini! Here are some more pics of what I'm doing in following through on my original plan of using the hearts and arrows as a banner. At the same time, the banner really gives credence to the year the art work was done. I feel so much better now in completing what I really wanted to do with this mini. Praise the Lord -- all glory to Him!! I allow Him to use me for His purposes! I believe this will help bring better funds for the purposes to be met. We hope so anyway. The last pic will just be a tentative example of how I intend to finish it. Hope others are inspired by this. Thank you so much for your sweet disposition and charming ways and sweet compliments! am using a pair of old earrings that make the perfect chain to anchor my banner

am getting there. the earrings are pushed into the fab and the backs hold it in place.haha. They make the perfect chain I thought, however, the main rod will still be used to hold the bulk of the mini. Next I'll be trimming the banner with matching binding!

cutting it apart. Had to cut into the name a little bit, but still may use the name as a ready made label for the backside (minus the missing tops)

In answer to your question when the years repeat, I think it's every 11 years it changes so this calendar will be good to use in 2014. I looked up the year '75 to find it. Here's the link:

I always thought that the calendar changed every 11 years but according to this site, it's 38 years. Well, 2011's calendar will be the same in 2022 so that's 11 years. Anyway, it will be lots of fun using these old numbers in a quilt. I think they will blend perfectly with all those selvage edges I've been saving, mixed in 'week by week,' haha. (one week on one selvage, another week with another selvage). Yes, it's time ladies to dig thru our oldies and put them to good use! What good are they doing laying in the moth balls? I just can't wait to use all the numbers in something! I know you all will have fun digging through the old linens to add new life to and the sequined calendars would be beautiful as blocks! Can't wait to see what everyone does with them! I just finished looking at your 3 quilts real quick and they are just adorable! Those sheep are so cute and love all 3, especially your avatar! What you can do is cut the NAME of the month apart from the days and weeks. Now you have 12 names and 12 patterns of days and weeks
Look at a new calender to get the days right.
Take January and put a set of weeks that has the same starting day as this year's does, with it.
The same for February, and so on - but be careful because February has an extra day every four years
Match up March and all the rest.
Now you have a calender you can use now!

I collect all the fabric calendars I can find. I quilt them and make wall toppers for gifts... Anniversaries, birthdays, whatever. I always make sure the proper date is highlighted with a red heart. ppl seem to fall in love all over again and start talking about... "remember when we..." Wish they were still distributed. Have seriously been thinking about making my own fabric calendar(s) as gifts. This would be especially when a new baby arrives. Above the numbers, a picture of the parents holding the newborn would be a treasure for decades to come.....

That is so nice!! What a nice heirloom with special meaning from family members' gifts! How beautiful of you to do that! I know it sure will be cherished and passed down in the family. Well, this same aunt had a tradition of giving us these every year along with fruitcakes (which none of us liked -haha) so I'm sure I'll find lots more of these stashed away in my DM's estate. Looking forward to turning them into something nice and bringing them from the closets to out in the open.

Wow! They are great! Were they all originally from a calendar to begin with? Winnie the Pooh is great and the Kids Skating with the Dog reminds me of a Normal Rockwell illustration, the Xmas. one is super too! Thank you so much, BobbiSue, for sharing with all of us your beautiful quilted calendar toppers! They sure do inspire conversations from an earlier era. You have a great idea and are on to something good with making your own calendars ~~ especially for the parents having newborns! They would love that! My brother had his own business doing silk screen printing so I was thinking that would be the route to go for the calendars! Best of luck in your pursuit of that business venture if you do it! It could be a very successful business!
