Thank you everyone for your nice comments. It is a vintage pattern from the 1930s, and I think I remember my DGM having a few in her trunk that looked like that. I just had to try it and see what happened. I will continue to do a few more in between doing other projects. I first though it would be all blue and blue tones, but scrappy looks like it has contrast, so I am still undecided. It makes me happy that some of you like it , too.

I have never seen anything like this before. I love it, and the colors you're using. I hope you post again when this quilt is finished.

I did this same butterfly block back in the 70's, the only difference was that you made the butterfly and then appliqued it onto the background fabric. It was a fun block and you sure learned a lot about curved piecing.

Yours are looking just wonderful and the colors are beautiful. Have fun, I know you are going to love the pattern when you get it all together.

Thank you again. I did make number four and will post that later. The trick is the bottom background curve that does not want to behave right. It is all pieced together, and offers a challenge not too pucker up there. Not perfect, but learning as I go. If you have made a butterfly quilt, you are welcome to add yours for there are various patterns out there. I am in awe what QB members do in quilting.
