New quilt for homeless Vet in NY State

This is the 2nd one I'm sending up to Ro in NY state. She will be distributing them to a facility which houses homeless Vets. I posted a query about the name of this block here

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...k-t272823.html

The block made some interesting patterns and I settled on the one below.

good for you and for Ro for doing this.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

Thanks Lynnie but really all the credit goes to Ro. She discovered this organization and she will be handling the distribution of the quilts. All I did was sew, a very enjoyable activity!

Looks like a larger rail fence pattern to me. Thanks for doing this for our Vets.

What year is your Kenmore? Mine is a 1957 and looks like a twin to yours, and still going strong.

Mine says 1957 on the metal SN tag. I love it. It was my Mom's, she bought it new. It's in a blonde cabinet too! Very mid century modern! I actually have a 2nd one that I got on Craigslist for spare parts.

It looks a lot like that Take Five block, except mine is only 4 pieces. In the Take Five, the large rectangle is two pieces. So I guess mine is a Take Four?? Thanks for the nice words though.

Thanks for the kind words. It's a simple quilt but I'm happy with it.

Ro - I'll be mailing my two off to you tomorrow. I'll send you a PM with the ETA. Thanks for what you are doing for the Vets.

A bit off topic..but I am in upstate NY..I might want to get involved in this..who is RO, and what is the organization? If you don't want to post the info, then please message me..I make a ton of quilts, and vets are close to my heart.

Ro is the user name of a fellow QB member. She is collecting quilts which will be delivered to The Veterans Place in Yaphank NY. The physical building is an old repurposed motel that houses homeless Vets.

I'm pretty sure she commented on this thread, so just go through all 3 pages and look for her name. You should probably send her a PM. Sounds like you two have something to talk about.

I'm also going to send you a PM with links to info about the organization.
