I agree with Quiltah Mama...the individual blocks are wonderful...it's the background fabric that pulls it down and makes it muddy looking.

I'm with you Quiltah Mama but that is one of the fabrics I had in my stash to use up and I am on a mission to deplete and use some of my large pieces of material. This will have two more 2 inch borders around with material that goes with that piece more. We will see. That is part of what is fun - to see how it all turns out. I am hoping for the best. The name of the pattern is "Lost in the Garden". It is from a book by Pamela Mostek called Scatter Garden Quilts. Thanks everyone for your comments.

This reminds me of the technique made popular by Louisa Smith. It's called Strips'n'Curves. It is fun and addicting

Do you have a pattern for that? I'm trying to make something with circles and would like some ideas.

I like the stripes and the top section with your circles. I’m not liking the color of the very light circles (referring to your rug).....I would add a color that is a bit more medium....not as dark as the original pieces, but not as light as this is. (To add more interesting colors).

Yes, I also made the Strips and Curves quilt by Louisa Smith. This layout did remind me of that quilt.
