I agree with Sak658.

But, I like the secondary pattern you get if you put the same fabrics together at this spot like you have with the darks.

Beautiful colors! Looking good so far. Keep going.

From the computer picture, there does look to be enough contrast but in person, it might be subtle. It does look lovely from what I can see. The big question is: Do you like it ? Learn to follow your feelings about design, color, contrast. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. No problem, it's your quilt and you don't have to keep sewing it as it is. You change what you want to change, it's yours to play with. Good Luck with whatever you do !!

For someone new to quilting, you have done a great job so far! Congratulations at taking the first steps. It looks great to me and once you're done, please post the pictures!! It is lovely, just keep at it.

I agree with SAK658. The little black squares add to the interest of the quilt.
