    Old Quilt

This Quilt was made by my ex husbands grandmother. She made it a long time ago. She passed away in 1997 at 110 years old. My mother-in-law thought I may want it to cut up and use for pillows etc. NOT I am going to trim the binding off and rebind and just have a throw. It is so soft and the stitches are amazing. She was a special lady.
    Does anyone know the pattern?
    Thanks Nena

Not sure what the pattern is, but it looks like it is still in very good shape. I would be doing what you are. Put some new binding on it and use it. I think the only time you should cut them up is when they are worn and you can still get some use out of the smaller pieces.
enjoy your life...it's the only one you have!!!

Wow! What a pretty quilt! Shame to think she thought it only worthy to be cut up. Glad you saved it!

I am so glad you were given the quilt and are going to rebind it. It would be nice if it does not have a label if you could
put the information you have on it. Her name, when she was born, where she lived and the date you got it? It is
such a great heirloom. I have one that was written about in a newspaper article or I never would have known it's history.

Glad you're not going to cut it up. It would be a shame to lose a family heirloom like this.
