I found this quilt in my travels and couldn't resist! I love all the scrappy fabrics. I believe the pattern is a bow tie.

It may be an hour glass pattern! I really like the pattern. Anyone ever stumble across it?

I guess you could call it a bowtie, and hourglass or a butterfly. That's what I see when I look at it - butterflies!

    It is really cute!

Wow, I love the pattern. I copied it into my photo folder, and called it "Butterfly Ring". I think it would be very pretty to do in bright colors like butterflys! I enjoy looking at old quilts in museums - they did so much with so few gadgets. Sara

It looks to be in incredible shape and the colors don't look very faded.

What a find!! That is beautiful! It's nice for a quilt to find an appreciative home! Where in your travels did you find it?

That turned out really nice and to me bowties look like old wooden thread holders.

If it was pieced block to block without the sashing it would be called Arkansas Traveler. If it is set with a white block in the middle of 8 of the pattern blocks it is called a Beggar Block. This is according to Maggie Malone of Classic American Patchwork Quilt Patterns.
