10 minute table runner.....
I've been doing these for a while now and decided to try something different. I thought I'd try it with some lace that I got from my sister. I'm so pleased with how it came out.
I've used rick rack along the short edge before. Or either added buttons. Never really sure how to quilt it. I've even used batting in it to "poof" it up some.
I'm just wondering for those that have made them before how have you embellished it?
Wondering minds would like to know....

I have only made a couple and I used some buttons on one. It turned out cute. I like your idea of lace and rick rack. I think I'll try one or the other on the next one I make. They sew up fast and are really pretty. thanks for the pic.

I've used yo-yos, buttons, buttons on top of yo-yos, and even tassels, but I never thought of lace. I have lots of lace and now that my daughters are older, they're not into lacy dresses anymore. This would be a great way to use up some of it and dress up some holiday runners as gifts. As for the added puffiness, a friend of mine got me into using fusible fleece. It gives it the look of being quilted, but with much more heat absorption for use with candles.

I use lace a lot in my quilts, but never thought of using it in table runners. Great idea. I really think your table runner is cute! Like the fabric also.

My daughter and I use glitter craft paints, glow-in-the-dark clear paints, and even buttons, i.e., lady bugs, etc. The red lady bugs are my signature trademark on all quilts, as I always include them on each quilt whether painted, embroidered, buttoned, etc. Just have fun with it and think outside the box of what is considered "acceptable" or "traditional".

Your runner is really cute! I made several of these runners last year and now cannot remember the dimensions to cut the fabrics. Can anyone send these figures to me?
thanks in advance, Penny
