Or this. Would be approximately 88" square without an outside border.

I love the second one Pam! The stars in the border as a simplified version of the centre of the feathered - perfect! And the log cabin set like that - sort of 'Cabin around the Stars'!

Your block is wonderful!! You did a great job in matching the seams. Colors are great!

Pam--You sure do know how to challenge yourself!! Your feathered star is gorgeous and I know you will figure out a beautiful setting for it--I like both of the ones you posted.

I just thought of the perfect setting! A name even came along with it. Now, to get to work on it. I think I can finish it pretty quickly, maybe a week if I don't need to get more fabric, which I probably do.

I thought of another one while this one was percolating. It's a type of bargello that I don't think I have ever seen. I'll have to scour the net and see. It's very ambitious, don't know if it is possible without sewing every tiny piece individually, and if someone has already done it then, I don't think I will.

This is the layout that came to me at work today. Then I thought "Feathered ... cabins?" Thinking "feathered" made me think of "tarred and feathered". Starred and Feathered!

I repeated the feathers from the FS with the log cabin blocks. The two inner solid borders will let me adjust the final size of the feathered star center block to fit the first small stars then the next border can adjust to fit the larger stars.

I'm excited to see if I can do it. I have some exact measurement figuring out to do but if I can draw it, I should be able to make it in a larger scale.
