This is a picture of what I thought would be a simple project. Three weeks later it is finally glued down. My husband and I bought a house on a small lake and we wanted to add a nautical theme to our rec room, hence the compass. Thanks to a quilting book I was able to get the pattern. I don't recomend trying this one, the carpet installers said they wouldn't even attempt it. They did give me some pointers on how to fill in gaps where the seams didn't quite meet.

At first I thought it was a quilting project but it sounds as if it is a permanent part of the flooring ~ what is it made of? It is beautiful and does look difficult to make though!!!

The project is a permant part of the flooring. It is made from a vinyl tile. The carpet installers thought I was crazy for doing it, but really I think they were just jealous.
i don't have the time yet to make a quilt block with this pattern. School starts soon then look out!

Thanks for the compliment. it was very difficult to make. i am some what of a perfectionist and my own worst critic. I love to view all kinds of projects. Everyone has a different twist on things. It's fasinating.
