As I said in my intro, I love to make quilts that tell a story. This quilt was made for my DH for our 35th anniversary, Sept. 20. On our 30th anniversary we bought a Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Since then we have been on trips to 22 states and Canada on our bike. As we have traveled, I have purchased various fabrics from each state and taken lots of pictures using some of them in this quilt.
He loved it soooo much, that for Christmas, he made me the quilt rack to hang his quilt on. He loves to show off his quilt to everyone who comes by and I love showing them his handy work on the quilt rack. What fun it is to relive each trip by looking at the various blocks. My husband tells everyone he could tell them a story for every block.
We hope to travel to all 48 of the lower states so I'll have to brainstorm on another quilt someday.

What a fabulous idea!!! I love your quilt! Do you have a larger pic of your avatar quilt posted on the Board? It looks lovely in the little avatar pic, but I would absolutely LOVE to see it up close.

No, the avatar is a trip we made on the bike but is to Blue Bonnet Quilt Shop Hop in Texas. I haven't posted a larger version of it, but I will. Thanks!

What a beautiful quilt and a great way to depict your travels. I love quilts with stories sewn within them and your quilts are amongst the best I have seen. Great work :)
