Default kaufman freebie - kite flight

the kaufman pattern is done all in solids, but the person i am making this for let me choose the fabrics.

i've never used precuts before. this one is a bali pop and while i have heard complaints about the accuracy of the cuts in theirs, this one seems perfect.

i wish i had sewn the strip dark-light-medium, or maybe even used a different solid than white for the centre square but i think a dark blue line of quilting to outline that box will fix it right up.

so far it's pretty fast, and i think the quilt will be quite lovely when complete!

thanks for being here

aileen

So far,I wouldn't change a thing! Funny how we do that "wish we had done something different" thing to ourselves, eh?

Very nice. I bought the kite and believe me it was a long process of getting the blocks set correctly even before actually sewing them. The odd angles, making sure the colors were opposite etc. Not the easiest kite I've even worked with.
