Well I finally got smart after seeing one of these and made myself a pegboard thread holder! I have 2 other types but they wouldn't hold my spools, they kept falling off.

I'm a happy camper now! Not all my threads are on it yet.

I used 1/4" dowels cut to size.

Go for it. It was very inexpensive to make. I got 10 dowels and the pegboard 2 ft X 4 ft for $13 total. I have some left over for other things, because I wanted 36 ".

Got them at Hope Depot.

Very nifty. I don't have wall space for one......I have my Emb machine threads in a stackable plastic storage unit & it's full of threads & fabrics. Like being organized, don't you?
