It was paper pieced.

Thank you for all your comments! I was unsure when I got home and unwrapped the fabric kit - a lot of the fabrics were pretty ugly. But I LOVE how it turned out!

What did you do with the ugly fabrics because I sure don't see any now.

Great job, I can't imagine doing that many pineapples. Yes sometimes fabrics in their entirety are ugly but when cut into strips and smaller pieces take on a totally different look and life. That is what get's us all obsessed on quilting- at least that's how I justify my stash to myself.
