Default First mystery quilt

I have completed my first mystery quilt and am attaching a picture. Our Guild held an exhibition of this years mystery quilts at a local bed centre and it was lovely to see them all laid out on beds rather than hung on walls. Members of the public were asked to vote, as well as guild members, for the one they liked the best (not just on technical merit) and the whole event was reported in the local paper The Muscat Daily, Oman. Although I did not win the vote my quilt was featured by the reporter and I was really pleased to have it picked out of them all for the feature. I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me though the colours were picked with my step daughter in mind. It was the first time I have done more 'fancy' free motion on a quilt using my Nolting MAQ14 as I have been struggling to get the hang of it. I hope you like it.

What a pretty quilt! And I love the colors. I've never done a mystery quilt. I'm too much of a control freak and I want to know what something is going to look like before I start cutting fabric. You did good with this one!

I love the color combo of the pink/black/grey! Pretty pattern too!

That turned out neat. It kept my attention and I studied it a long time. I love it. Your step daughter is a lucky girl to get this quilt.

What a great idea of displaying the quilts in a bed showroom!

Your version looks fabulous - very planned, actually.
I love the non-traditional (for a mystery) center.

That turned out lovely. My mind sees some "art deco" in there - the centre and the matching cornerstones.
