Default Pinwheel and Prairie Points (and Cupcakes)

A coworker asked me to make a lap quilt for her 11-year-old daughter to give to her for Christmas. Pattern was my choice, but she wanted it related to cupcakes. I found the cupcake fabric first and then all of the other colors to go with it but had a hard time finding the right pattern. Then I saw the Pinwheels and Prairie Points quilt on the board, and I knew this is the one I wanted to use. I tried to recreate the pattern and added the appliqued cupcake cornerstones. I pieced the back to save her on cost and added a row of cupcakes there too. I used just about every bit of fabric I bought plus a little from my own stash. Here is the link to my inspiration quilt : http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t204012.html

I think it is perfect for an 11 year old. Good choice of pattern and fabrics.
