I have been eye-balling this collection of fabrics for a few months now, I finally bought it and I'm getting around to starting the log cabin I had planned for the fabric. I've never done a log cabin block before, so I just pretty much guessed at what I needed, and figured out the measurements. I made one test block, to see if I liked the fabrics together, took a pic, and did a whole lot of copy-paste in the paint program to come up with this. I'm not entirely convinced about the center being red, it kind of draws too much attention to it, so I think I'm going to substitute with the white with tiny red flowers. Let me know what you think, any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Please ignore all the funny white lines in there, this program is way too basic, I miss my photoshop7 :(

Very pretty. I think I would like the white with flowers better than the red.

Oh i love it! I've never done a log cabin quilt but those colors are so pretty. I think the red blocks spark it! Great job I wouldn't change a thing even though the good thing of this block is that it has so many different variations!

Oh it's going to be gorgeous! I like it with the red, i dont find it makes the red square pop, what i find is it makes the red in the floral pop, but whatever you choose will be beautiful :)

Red is the traditional color for the center of a log cabin it represents the heart of the home.

I LOVE it just the way it is!

Very pretty fabrics!!! If that red is too red for you, what about a more maroon red, closer to the reds in your other fabric, that doesn't stand out quite so much? Either way you choose, it is going to be beautiful :D :D :D
