You go Girl
Susan, Good for you for having a go. If those old quilt police knock on your door just practice selective hearing. You did set yourself a task but you haven't given up. If you are enjoying it keep going. If you need any help just ask here. There are people with all different levels of experience and they are generous with their help.

I have really gotten in over my head on this project. Only bought my first sewing machine in November and then foolishly charged right into something that I had no idea would be this difficult! The quilt police I hear you all speak of would have a field day with my points and seams. But... I only have three more star things to go and then some easy borders. This will be my first experience with hand quilting too. Despite some pretty glaring flaws it is kind of pretty My seven year old will love it anyway Thanks for looking, I am learning a lot from this board!
Your points look fine to me. The reason the two side rows don't match point to point with the center row is the chocolate sashing. Without that the points would match - at least in my opinion.
