    Smile My First French Braid!

Okay, I know I have a lot to learn but I am very pleased with how my first attempts at the French Braid turned out. I need to trim the sides and find a nice border. I will keep the small one and give the other to Brownie's sister, Cindy, for her kitchen table.

Cindy's kitchen is beige/light green/tans so I think it will look very nice. I hope she likes it. I really had a fun time cutting the strips out of different patterns and colors I had around my stash and trying to figure out how to arrange them.

If you haven't tried the French Braid, you need to! It really is great fun. Thanks for looking.

Looks like you spent a lot of time matching things up. Love the colors. Please post it after you have finished with them. Would like to see how and what you use for the background. Or are you just going to cut them and bind?

I like the photo fabric as an anchor - good job with the colors too.

Oh you are reminding me of when I made a little runner as a braid and I had no pattern and it was HARD, for something that looks kinda simple, (But my mother loved it and thought I was oh so clever!)

I like your colour choices, and I like braids! I must do another. Will you? Did you enjoy the process so far?

Thanks you. Yes, my mom thinks I am getting fancy! Who knows she may just get one for Christmas in more of a multicolor scheme. Diane007 No I did not put the strips on base fabric, I just sewed the strips and squares together.
I loved the process, picking the fabrics, arranging and re-arranging, putting everything together, I am having a blast!

It DOES look great! I, too, have this on my (extremely long) bucket list. Please post again when you finish these little cuties up!

Okay, I have to put a French Braid on my bucket list. I don't have those great scraps, so my brain is already thinking colors.

Evelyn, I knew you could do it. Great job with colors. Can't wait to see it complete with sashing.
