As some of you know, I recently took a class taught by Sharon Schamber. During class she discussed pressing boards and how important they were for quilting. They are super easy and inexpensive to make. My dh made 2 for me today. Sharon provides a free video explaining how to make them:

That's so cool and I love knowing about the hard surface. I think I will make one soon. Thanks SOOOOO much for sharing.

DH bought a metal cabinet today that is going to make me a perfect pressing table :)

Hey Thanks! And if you happen to scorch something (like I did today!) all you need to do is wipe the spot with peroxide and use a warm iron on it. Poof, it's gone!

Thanks so much for sharing! DH watched the video with me and, as soon as it was finished, asked, "So, what size do you want?" Yippee!! :D

I did not know that a hard surface made a differece with triangles!! Maybe this will change my mind about making another quilt with triangles. I might try the tv table one as I do not have a way to cut the wood.

I think you can get your wood cut at the store where it is purchased. I know both Home Depot and Lowes will cut it for you.

I'm also thinking of making the TV table pressing board to put next to my sewing machine.

I LOVE watching her! I learned all about the importance of starch. And I made my pressing board on a wooden tv tray so that I can fold it. It sits right by my side when I'm sewing. =)

Me too! I wish I could afford to subscribe to all of her videos. Maybe I'll ask dh for a gift subscription for Christmas.

I can't open this site to see how this is made. I even when to the main site, nothing opens. Does someone have the directions for this table?
