The first round of binding is on--just have to do the hand part. I also have to attach a hanging sleeve--later.
Big news: I used basting spray for the first time and there's NOT ONE PUCKER anywhere! Thank you to Shadow for her patience and advise. (I kept the back big and didn't need the newspaper...) I think the wine one is my best quilting job yet--no fields of  ... ahem--Melissa--don't you think it's an improvement? The new machine is still letting me know what kind of thread it likes--and it's just darn hard to quilt something 50" square well here to home, but "good enough!" I can't keep it moving at a steady rate--so the stippling isn't smooth and curvy--sometimes there's an angle. And the back has some weird tension issues here and there. There's one tiny loop de loop, but I went on/off the stars to keep going, so there are spots that cross, but I don't care about that. Good enough!! (my motto) There are stars in the sky--can you see them? I really love looking at this cats one. I have plans for another-a daytime scene--and picked up a few of the fabrics yesterday. :D |

Very nice Karla. Love the cat one.

Karla, your quilts and your free motion are fantastic!! Never mind about the odd glitch....we are all so critical of our own work  , but I think you have done yourself proud with these two beauties

They look wonderful Karla!!! Great job, I agree, most of the time we are our own worst critics!!!
|
Great job! APPLAUSE!!!

I'm so jealous of your "Cat's" quilt. It looks great. I see you quilted some stars into the sky. I had that idea too. My "Cat's" quilt top is sitting folded on a shelf in the closet. Seeing yours is inspiring. Great job.

Very nice but can i ask a stupid question why is your top and batting pressed to the back side of your topper?
