Interesting idea. Very similar to the one I designed and made for the 2009 Hoffman Challenge (was selected to travel for 15 months).

Wow, it is really close to what yours looks like, isn't it! I've seen several similar designs, but I like the colors/fabrics in yours the best (even better than mine, actually)!!! I like the symmetry you've used in yours. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL; and congratulations on the honors too!

I sized this to fit my round dining room table; I've been working on a couple more hexagon shaped toppers since they fit the table really well. I've been experimenting with various cubes/tumbling blocks out of my "One Block Wonder Encore" book and a couple of different web tutorials, and started out with other hollow cube shapes along with the ones I used here, but took them out and set them aside for another project, so stay tuned for more experimental pieces.
