Yes, I made a template out of cardboard and then used that to draw the scallop on the border. I used a Tupperware lid that was the size I needed to get the right curve in it.

Beautiful and classic! Your daughter is a lucky girl!

Those two blocks go so nicely together! The scalloped border gives it a wonderful feminine touch for a daughter.

I can see you're not sewing the border by hand on the back... what do you do?

I do a double fold french binding on my quilts. The binding on the front of this one is 3/8" wide and then wraps around to the back where it is 1/2" wide. So after wrapping it around to the back, I stitch in the ditch on the front between the border and binding so that the needle just catches the binding on the back by 1/8".

As per usual, I love your quilt. I really think that the wavy border sets it off nicely. Beautiful.

Magnificent, Eddie!

Maybe, you can do a tutorial on that scalloped edge. WOW!

wowee! how do you find the time to do such painstakingly beautiful work?
are you doing these to sell? they certainly are of the highest professional level.

I loved this quilt sooooo much that I ran out and got the book yesterday! I can't wait to start. I agree, a tutorial on the wavy edge would be wonderful. Thanks for posting such a beautiful quilt.

Glad you got the book, Patty. It's got a lot of nice patterns in it.

I'll try to put up a tutorial on the scalloped edge this evening.
